Why Am I Here?

Maybe you are curious/interested in finding out about our church? Or the writings and thoughts from this church’s pastor and leadership that you would find if you attended services here. This we hope you will find as it is a purpose of this blog. But the question of why we are here is much deeper and greater than that.

Why are we here? Why do we exist? Does God have a purpose and meaning for my life? It is my sincere and heartfelt belief that every human being senses there must be something higher and greater than themselves in the universe. Is there a divine power?. Is there a God? The Bible says in “The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge. There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.” (Psalm 19:1-3) We look at the universe and God tells us that he exists.

We are created in God’s image. “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” (Ge 1:27) Why? For his companionship. To love him and be loved by him. Can you imagine creating the vastness and beauty of galaxies and all the things in the universe but having no one to share them with? To ask “do you like what I’ve made?” To enjoy them with God in ages to come. That is why you and I are here.

God loves you! The Bible tells us “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)  “We love him, because he first loved us.” (1John 4:19) Our purpose in life is to love God and to love him. He has a reason and a purpose in your life that he will reveal to you as you learn and grow in relationship with him. God’s purpose in your life is a higher calling than anything else on earth.
